Any surface a multi-touch system

I found a link to a start up which seems to be selling a system to do the whole projector/kinet sensor and then turn it into a windows 8 multi-touch signal ( I think )
http://www.ubi-interactive.com

Amazing how quick things go from idea to laboratory to commercial application these days.

All that is lacking is apps of course.

Multi-touch meets online collaboration for all the right reasons

3 from B-Reel & B-Reel Films on Vimeo.

I remember seeing a proposal for this kind of system some years ago at an old MediaMatic/Door of Perception conference ( with out the sales angle) . I was excited then - you can have a display were everyone gets the text the right way round. Naturally easy to do multi-touch with a  IR camera with this  too.

I wonder what the client has - a flash plug-in or something ? How much do you get the feeling that the operator has to work blind ( not seeing the client ) .

Cambridge Tourist information office application on the Microsoft Surface

Our next application is about to go into a trial at the Tourist information office at  Peas Hill Cambridge ( CB2 3AD).  The current application is very slick but thats easy to say before real people get their real hands on it.

We are inviting people to come down and have a look at it and try it out for them selves from the 17th of May to the 10th of June. We are looking for groups of people who might want to report back there responses at the end of the day.

Given the amount of preparation its going to be a textbook interaction paper.

Come and help break the software ! The location is http://www.visitcambridge.org/VisitCambridge/ContactUs.aspx

The video is new and still hasn't settled at YouTube hopefully the video will sort its self out at some point.

ten little fingers

Lovely animation. I would love to try this interface even better if I could do some user evaluation. Makes me want to do a user interface with with two mice. This is really a bi-manual interface.

How to build applications for the touch table

The system I'm currenrtly useing si the reacTIVIsion system

http://reactivision.sourceforge.net/

The processing library is here

the java one is

The Simulator is

http://www.tuio.org/?software
has a list of other stimulators, libries, trackers and so on.
You needs the processing TUIO lib.
http://www.tuio.org/?processing

I tend to go with processing it goes full screen straight away.
http://www.processing.org/

The lanauges is a reduced version of Java, but it handles the constantly redrawing stuff.

I tend to use http://www.jbox2d.org/ to do the physics of interaction.

To get stuff working you might need open sound control (http://opensoundcontrol.org/) library
http://www.sojamo.de/libraries/oscP5/  ( for processing).
